  The seventh literacy website that I explored is Jumpstart . This is another great literacy website which provides a variety of resources for teachers and available for any subject and grades. Jumpstart is a national early education organization working toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. They provide language, literacy, and social-emotional programming for preschool children from under-resourced communities and promote quality early learning for all children. Upon exploring details about this website, the site is separated into various tabs. By clicking on different tabs, it will guide you to what resources you need. There are resources available for  teachers and resources available for students. Some of the resources could be downloaded into PDF file and you can print out to use in classroom. Literacy Website # 4: Wordnik Wordnik is the world's biggest online English dictionary, by number of words. It is a nonprofit organization. The mission of wordnik is to find and share as many words of English as possible with as many people as possible. It shows definitions from multiple resources so that users can see many different takes on a word's meaning as possible. There is a search box where you can type in any word and it will show definitions from multiple sources.  Wordnik also includes example sentences from major news media (such as the Wall Street Journal and USA Today) and from books from Project Gutenberg and the Internet Archive, as well as from other sources across the web, including blogs. What interests me about this website is there were images that are related to the words and students can hear related sounds with the target word highlighted. Effective Literacy Website #5 The fifth website that I chose to explore is   LearnEnglish Kids .  I chose this website because there are useful features, activities and resources for ELL students. It targets students with different learning capabilities since there are sections for kinesthetic learners, visual learners, tactile learners, and auditory learners.  By exploring more details about this website, I found that it offers great features for learning English. These sections include games, videos, poems/chants, Read and write, speak and spell, grammar and vocabulary, printouts, and interesting topics. In the game section, students will have fun playing games by reading the instructions given and have fun playing and practicing English. In the grammar section, students can learn grammar rules and play games to help them understand. There are also printouts activities, tests, and reference cards to help them learn and remember. Effective Literacy Website #6 Effective Literacy Website # 6   The sixth website that I chose to explore is   Storyline Online . Storyline online is a Well-known SAG actors of all ages read 24 popular children's picture books. The narration is accompanied by illustrations from the book. Some of the stories use storybook cutout animation. I found this website interesting since lesson plans and interactive activities are accompanying with each book. You will find it interesting listening to actors read the stories. Upon exploring more details about this website, it serves as a good resource for parents, educators, caregivers and educators. It is a free website and is available 24 hours for anyone. There are available books for teachers to read for students from School Tube and YouTube.    Each book includes supplemental curriculum developed by a credentialed elementary educator. It was founded in 2006 by San Francisco California based Company. The purpose of this website is to help teachers and their students put their information quickly and easily   online. People can also create a website blog for free. It allows teachers to set up an account that gives access to up to 40 students where students log in which is assigned by a teacher.  Teachers are in control over which websites are public or private, and which students can edit. When exploring more on this site, teachers can post class updates, homework, assignments, and news for parents using the blogging features. Literacy Website # 1: StoryNory   Storynory ( http://www.storynory.com ) is a free website to listen to different types of stories for kids. Storynory brings you an audio story every week.   It provides a collection of original, fairy tales, myths & World, Poems & Music and classic children's audio stories for entertainment and educational purposes. The students can follow along with the story as it read to them since the text is included on the site. Each one is beautifully read by Natasha and friends. The site includes lesson plans, worksheet, interactive student materials, Web resources, standards for classroom teachers and much more.  Their mission is to provide educators, parents, and afterschool professionals with access to the highest quality practices in reading and language arts instructions by offering the very best in free materials. I found this website engaging for young learners especially those who are just learning to read and write. This website is easy to explore because you can just click on different labels to get you to what you want to learn or teach.             Classroom resources include lesson plans, students interactive, mobile apps, calendar activities, and printouts. IRA Newsletter Project: Effective Literacy Website #3   Between the Lions  is a great literacy website that offers different reading and video collections for any grade level. There are available resources and activities for all subjects. By navigating through this site, you can click on any tabs to learn how deliver a lesson on different subjects and view videos that will enhance student's learning. There are interactive games and activities using phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and text comprehension. In addition to these interactive games and activates, there are also literature resources for students where they could explore the main themes of written language. Teachers can find resources for any grade level lesson plans and videos, games and activities that is aligned to the state and national standards. Overall, this is a great literacy website because it offers different features that will enhance students at any grade level.
